Free Fall
Those sheets they smell of us
Alcohol and cigarettes that we consumed in our lonely togetherness.
These wrinkles and crinkles remind me of time forwarded, and therefore lost.
Of thoughts running, leaving reason behind. Of faith unravelling.
I want to say something.
You want to say something.
We should say something.
Exits and silences numb each thread of longing.
An ego war, that we only win to lose.
Familiarity is always a poor teacher.
Learn only to unlearn.
Stubborn resistance and rebellion remain.
Love over experience. Experience over feeling. Feeling over.
Bathing bare naked. Vulnerable. Breakable.
No tether, it's a free fall.
But, those sheets.
